The Hobby Center for Performing Arts, Zilkha Hall

Viva Latina

Plan to attend this special evening with the Texas Medical Center Orchestra for a performance of music from Mexico, Spain and South America.  TMC Orchestra will be joined by Mariachis Los Gallitos.

Selections include: Mariachi favorites La Bikina, El Pastor and Por Amor, as well as selections from "the Cuban Gershwin" Ernesto Lecuona's Andalucia Suite, and a Potpourri of "Mambo King" Perez Prado's mambos, among many other favorites.

Established in November 2000 and celebrating its 17th season, Texas Medical Center Orchestra is one of very few community orchestras in the United States and in the world with its origin in the health professions. The mission of the orchestra is to provide a fellowship in both music and medicine for its members, to contribute culturally to the community and to help raise awareness for medical and other local charities through its concerts.
