Celebrating our 12th Season

Formerly Doctors Orchestra of Houston

Established in November 2000, Texas Medical Center Orchestra of Houston is one of very few community orchestras in the United States and the world with its origin in the health professions. It includes physicians, dentists, nurses, medical students, biomedical scientists, social workers and other allied health professionals who have a dedication to music that goes beyond their daily occupations.

The mission of the orchestra is to provide a fellowship in both music and medicine for its members, to contribute culturally to the community and to help raise funds for medical and other local charities through its concerts.

In an effort to develop an appreciation for classical music in young audiences, Texas Medical Center Orchestra has adopted KIPP Sharp for the entire 2011-2012 concert season. A creative project will be presented by students at each concert to celebrate diversity, spirit, and culture.
